7. Screw shutter flange down tight and lock in position with three screws supplied. Make any slight correction necessary in length of tripper arm and bail due to shutter moving while you were locking the flange.

8. Remove knurled cap (1C) Fig. S also plunger rod and head. Replace coil in tripping head and set screw (1B) Fig. 8 slightly.

9. Loosen nut (3C) Fig. 10 on plunger head and adjust rod  (1B) length until plunger just trips shutter when plunger head (3a) seats on top of coil. (This adjustment must be done very slowly at a sudden push will trip the shutter without the head being properly seated.)

10. After the above adjustment is made, hold long end of plunger rod firmly and back plunger head off one full turn and tighten lock nut (3C) on plunger rod. If plunger is adjusted properly there will be a gap of not over l/64th of an inch between the plunger head and the coil when the shutter is tripped. File off surplus thread to within I/64th inch above nut (3C).

11. Insert plunger into coil. Loosen screw (4A) Fig. I 1 until it just clears inside of coil cap. Remove coil assembly from head and replace cap, screwing cap down until dots on cap and coil line up when tight. Replace completed coil assembly, locking screw (1B) after coil terminals are set at the proper angle (approximately 45 degrees) so camera wilt close without terminals interfering.

12. Tighten screw (4A) until tripping arm (2A) just moves. Then turn the screw ½ turn down. Be sure to lock nut. NOW CHECK FOR SYNCHRONIZATION. Any further adjustments are made as follows: To slow tripper, LENTHEN ROD (3B); to speed up tripper, SHORTEN ROD (3B) Fig. 10.
* * * Readjustment of front board lens stops is necessary only when the flange was originally on the front of the board, and is easily accomplished by focusing with the ground glass.
MOUNTING THE BATTERY CASE
Fasten battery case clip (5A) to the camera with screws and nuts supplied. loosening screw (5B) allows the battery  case to be revolved for either right or left hand mounting and also adjusts for vertical position. By tightening this screw the battery case clip will slide in and out very easy.  If you would like to have it fit more snugly, loosen the screw until the clip is tighter in the camera case clip. Note: If the clip is fastened to a rangefinder bracket, drill the bracket with a No. 47 drill and cap with 3x48.

Although all HEILAND battery cases are set for forefinger operation, thumb operation may be had by removing screws (5C) and revolving the reflector ring to a corresponding position on the opposite side of the case. However, we do not recommend this as with the switch button set for forefinger operation there is less chance of any camera movement since the synchronizer is fired somewhat like a gun; i. e., squeeze the trigger until the shutter is tripped by the snap action of the switch. Try this a few limes until you get the feel of it.

CONNECTING CORDS AW HOW THEY ARE USED
The cord that connects the coil to the battery case may be plugged into either one of the side outlets (6A) on the case. Either one of the side outlets  can be used for extension lighting by merely plugging in an extension lamp cord and reflector. If you wish to use more than one extension lamp use a double socket in the side outlets on the battery case or wire your two cords together with one male plug. To make this type of setup practical, one of the extensions should be longer than the other. An example if to have one cord 15 feet long and the other 21 feet long. Whenever using extensions check your batteries to make sure they are of sufficient power to take care of the extensions. New batteries should have 10 amps or more and when batteries fall below 7 amp* they should be discarded.
CAUTION: THE OUTLET OPPOSITE THE SWITCH (6B) IS TO BE USED FOR RE MOTE CONTROL OPERATION OR TO HOOK UP THE TWIN HEILAND UNIT, AND FOR FOCAL PLANE SYNCHRONIZERS.
Any pear type switch used on the end of a cord plugged into this outlet will act as a remote control whenever the circuit is closed.

CAUTION: DO NOT USE OVER 20 FEET OF CORD ON REMOTE CONTROL UNLESS AN AUXILIARY BATTERY SUPPLY IS PROVIDED.
